How to Submit a Case

Find your Ideal KiyoClear Patient
Initial Considerations
- Wants to improve the esthetic of the ‘social six’
- Asks about Invisalign or is considering “Do-It-Yourself” aligner systems
- Does not want traditional wire braces
- Prefers the possibility of treatment completion in less than 1 year
- Has had previous orthodontic treatment with some relapse in alignment
- Is not driven to an “ideal” or perfect bite
- Feels like they want a “wider” smile line
Patient’s Clinical Profile
- Class I, or Mild Class II or Class III
- Adult or adolescent with permanent teeth
- Needs +2mm of expansion
- Maintaining molar relationship
- Crowding, spacing, rotations, overjet, overbite, or angulation issues in anterior teeth, the uprighting of posterior teeth
- Able to wear expanders at night
Contraindications:
- Full step Cl II – severe Overbite
- Full step Cl III – severe Under bite
- Short clinical crowns
- Surgical cases
- Extraction cases
- Implants and bridges in any teeth being considered for movement
- Active periodontal disease
- Untreated Caries
- Unerupted Second molars
- Severe Bruxism
- Large Tori – particularly in the mandible
Required Records
- Full mouth Scan – both arches and a Bite registration as an STL file
- Intra- and Extra- oral photos
- Clinical Exam to determine if KiyoClear treatment is indicated
- Radiographs are not required for case submission, but they are recommended prior to treatment for diagnostic purposes only.

Full Mouth Scans
Acceptable Scans –STL files of the patient’s arches and occlusion, including the palate on the upper arch and 4-5 mm of gingiva in the lower arch. Intraoral scans preferred; scans of models are also acceptable.
Unacceptable Scans
Missing Gingiva: KiyoClear scans require a full palatal scan and at least 5 mm of gingiva on buccal of the upper arch and 5+ mm on the lower arch.
Rotate the scanner to the gingival margin to collect sufficient data
Holes in Scans:
Stay on tooth long enough to capture the entire tooth anatomy
Intraoral Scans – Best Practices
SheepMedical USA strongly recommends that you visually inspect your STL files before you submit them.
If the patient has calculus build up on their teeth, it is recommended to cleaning prior to scanning
Intra and Extra Oral Photos:
Required Photos:
- Full face smiling
- Full face relaxed
- Profile relaxed
- Upper occlusal
- Lower occlusal
- Right lateral
- Left lateral
- Facial
Photo Quality Guidelines:
- No obvious shadows
- Use good lighting
- Include as much of the dentition as possible in each photo
- Sharp and in focus
- For lateral photos try to include the distal of the cuspid and the mesial of the second molar
- Ensure that patient is in full occlusion
RADIOGRAPHS
- Panoramic, Full-mouth, Bite wing or Cephalometric radiographs are recommended prior to treating with KiyoClear for diagnosis of existing dental issues or contraindications to and considerations for treatment.
- Radiographs (panoramic and cephalometric) are not required for case submission to KiyoClear.
Using the Doctor Portal
- Log in to the KiyoClear Doctor Portal using your credentials.
- If you have not yet registered for the Doctor Portal, you will need to do that first by clicking on “Sign up”.
The Doctor will be notified BY EMAIL within 48 hours to view the treatment plan in the portal or using the link provided.
